Oh, the January light is stunning I want nothing more to be outside and painting and capturing this beautiful dramatic light that only comes around when the sun is low and the air is frozen. However, temperatures below 20° make it very difficult to paint outside. So I have retreated to the warmth of my studio and I am again painting the views through my windows. Fortunately, the views of the Hudson river and the rooftops of West Harlem continue to inspire me.

Here is the most recent a painting that is 18” x 24”. It grew slowly day by day with little additions every morning around 8 AM in the clear morning light. Here is the view from my studio window- looking south towards lower Manhattan. These buildings are on 142nd St. between Broadway and Riverside Drive on the south side of the street.

18” x 24” 2022. Acrylic on Canvas . 🔴 Sold.
